trip to Calgary and Dino Warrior test

December 4 is my mom's birthday, so the 3 of us headed down to Calgary on the Friday night. Mom's birthday was the following day and she had plans for us to visit Heritage Park as they had a Christmas thing going on. I had never been there before, and it was great! Horse drawn carriage rides, cookie decorating, crafts, real reighndeer, Santa, roaving carolers, and visits into the heritage buildings where they talked about Christmas traditions from way back when.

That night my Mom had invited over my brother Mark and his family for dinner. It was a delicious ham. From Costco, of course. :) The next morning we went to Mark's new place (he moved in the summer and we hadn't seen it yet, but had heard a lot about it!) then of course on the way out of Calgary we made a 'wee' stop at Bass Pro. It worked out good: Dan and Kassidy shopped in the big store and I got to roam the mall all alone. Loved it!

Tonight Kassidy went for her tae kwon do belt test, to graduate from white to a yellow striped belt. She did AWESOME! She was really nervous, but she still did it. At this stage they let them all test together, to build up their confidence - because they had to do it in front of a large crowd of people, and a desk with a man wearing a suit who was watching their every move!

Oh, and I had to add this one in. Kassidy LOVE LOVE LOVE's her baby kitty. She carries her around (which is amazing because I think the cat honestly weighs half of what Kassidy does) and is always hugging her, dressing her, 'chubbing' her (Kassidy pushes the cat's belly with her fists and says chubba wubba wubba) and showing her lots of love. Sahara (baby kitty) loves the attention from Kassidy so much that she puts up with A LOT. Much more than she would with anyone else. Below is an example (poor kitty! hahaha):
