I have to tell you about my haircut experience. I was in dire need of one as I hadn't had one since before Christmas. My ends were dry and it had no shape. I called Spastation in Sherwood Park to get my usual cut by Tanya. To my HUGE disappointment, she had quit. She was the first hairdresser I loved. So I went to plan B. On Friday morning I stopped in at Spastation downtown to see if they could get me in that day. I was in luck! 12:45 was my appointment. I took my usual photo, to show the style I like, and the hairdresser happily went on his way cutting. (BTW, it was my first time getting a cut by a man. It felt kind of weird.) He did a great job. Cut it exactly how I wanted it. When I got to the till I was expecting to pay what I usually pay...around $40 plus tip. When they rang it in......$63 !!! And that didn't count the tip!!!! I had to keep myself from dropping my jaw open in disbelief. Lesson learned: always ask how much the stylist charges before booking!
Kassidy is SO much fun right now. She's talking a lot, mimiking much of what we say. I still don't understand everything she says, but she sure tries to be understood. And she is in a Big Girl bed now. :) We set it up thinking we'd just leave it in her room for a while, but she wanted in right away. It's a toddler bed so the crib mattress sits in it. Her first time sleeping in it I relied on the railings to keep her in, but that was pushing it. Poor girl woke up by falling out of bed onto her head. So we installed a railing all the way accross. Sure, it still keeps her completely contained, but I figure it's still different because the railings are so much lower. I'll give it a little while before we take the temporary railing out.
And she has a pet rock. She's totally into rocks right now so we put on in a jar for her. Now she holds it as she reads and watches tv. And we put it on her dresser at night to sleep with her. Silly girl. :)

Ok. So, here's my "silver lining" comment: when I was reading about your haircut, I was all nervous and I had trouble breathing as I thought you were going to relay how a new stylist had totally butchered your hair. How you couldn't go out in public. How you looked like a clown. But I was relieved to hear that it was only money. I don't say that to downplay hearing an expensive cut (you know I sympathize heartily!), but rather to present, which would you rather: to have gotten a rotten cut that made you look awful that money couldn't have immediately fixed; or to pay a crazy amount of money, but have someone do exactly as you wanted and to look good? : )
Good silver lining, Jodi. :)
A big girl bed is so exciting!
i can't believe she has a pet rock. That is just hilarious. No stuffed animals for this girl or what? That's so funny. Toddlers are so much more fun than babies.
